The World Health Organization has requested a boxer who shall remain nameless to stay in quarantine with the swine flu and all. The insistence on going home seems a bit selfish, not being able to wait and risking the health of the population. He was to receive a hero's welcome. But (at the risk of anonymous people ranting at me) i don't think he deserves it as he lacks the patience and the concern for others that a hero should have. I admired the man and he brought glory to the country but one selfish act can wipe it all out for me.
I'll be praying that he and his entourage are not infected by the deadly virus because after all efforts to make sure we stayed free of it, all it will take is one selfish man to throw everything out the window. Sure, our comic book heroes had their defiant moments but not at the risk of the masses. This is a different story since this reckless defiance jeopardizes the health of the majority, defiance of no less than the WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (capitalized, bold letters for emphasis). Where is the glory in that? Is this the hero we want our children to admire? Shame.
Song of the Day: We Cry (by The Script)
I'm sick of looking for those heroes in the sky
To teach us how to fly
Together we cry!
