the power of three...

today, san beda made history.

for the third year in a row, the men's senior basketball team got the coveted ncaa championship.

the past three years have been good for san beda, sort of-- not just in basketball but also to the college of law:

along with the first ncaa championship in 28 years, it was senior class of 2006-2007 that graduated without anyone left behind.

2007 gave us another championship and a bar topnotcher-- not necessarily the one we expected nor as sweet as we would've liked but the 93.3% passing rate makes up for it.

now, i wonder what other great things 2008 will bring us. i hope it's a 100% passing rate in the bar exams (for all intents and purposes, tuning would have passed the bar had he finished it).

Song of the Day: The Bedan Hymn (lyrics by Sen. Raul Roco)
Bring out the challenges, we’ll win them all
And fear neither fire nor blood;
Bedans will answer the clarion call
For San Beda, our country and God.

  1. I came across your blog, found it offensive since the person you were referring is a former classmate and a friend of mine, what do you exactly mean by "as not necessarily the one we expected nor as sweet as we would've liked but the 93.3% passing rate makes up for it" especially the phrase after conjunctive word "but"? Thats statement is quite provocative considering you are awaiting the results of your bar exams..hope you pass or even top it. I will look for your name once the bar results will be released. goodluck, i hope you make it. (N.B. you have no right to attack my friend coz u simply have no moral authority to do so. why? you know him? where you in his shoes when the incident happend, i should know because i was the one who comforted him. He has his own reasons in making people who hated and doubted him pay. deal with it.)

  2. You think you are that good? we will just await the bar results. even if you pass, it is still not that good enough compare to him. however, if you fail then that will be a slap in your face. goodluck.

  3. i never meant to offend anybody. he was the dark horse of the batch and i'm very happy that he made it that far. i've heard a lot of comments about his success and i think that took away the sweetness of the victory, considering that there were a lot of negative reactions from many people that ruined the moment we so longed for. i apologize if it came across as an attack.

  4. i dont think nikkai had any intention of offending your friend. it is a fact within the san beda law community that there are more negative comments rather than positive ones about him. do not misinterpret me. i do not know nikkai and i personally admire your friend. it is not a piece of cake to pass the bar, moreover top it. we all have reasons for acting the way we are and it is probably because many failed to understand why your friend had to act differently after being a topnotcher. it should have been a humbling experience for him and he should not be making the experience humbling for everyone around him. as for nikkai, i hope you pass the bar.

  5. Regardless of what his detractors say,his original batch (2006-2007)is very proud of him. He proved once and for all, that the people behind the tempest are wrong. We will never forget how we were treated during our time when we were 4th years and for the lame reason because our batch was huge. Speaking in behalf of our batch, we appreciate it very much that Marforth acknowledged our silent protest during our graduation by putting his name and others in our togas. It only shows we always had his back covered, and we will continue to do that if its the only way to stop people hu attack and criticize him (as if they know the real score)and simply cannot be happy for what he has achieved. its a tragedy that people think they are infallible and cannot accept they were wrong. to them let me say " Acceptance is the key". AND NIKKAI you say he is a dark horse? I beg to disagree, he was our bar bet 2007 BAR. I refer you to the Tarpaulin we made for him during the send-off it says "TOP THE BAR".
    Now, for the people who thinks that Atty. Fua should not have done what he did: Top the bar and you will be given the same opportunity and perhaps you will do what atty. fua should have done as you like it to be. If not, then better be silent.
